Green Tree Energy Plan Terms and Conditions

The Green Tree Energy Plan is a rewards program available to residential Indra Energy customers in PA, NJ, MA, MI, DE, VA, and DC who are enrolled in a 6-month or 12-month fixed rate plan for electricity and/or natural gas.

Enrollment & Eligibility

This incentive is only available to those customers enroll their energy account(s) in a Green Tree specific plan. Enrollment is automatic for qualifying customers, and no separate signup is required. Customers may cancel this energy plan at any time without any penalty, in accordance with the plan’s terms and conditions. Only residential energy accounts are eligible.

Tree Rewards Structure

Customers earn:

  • 1 tree per 100 kWh of electricity used
  • 1 tree per 10 therms of natural gas used

New customers will receive starter trees when they enroll. The number of starter trees may differ depending on the promotion code offered.

Tree planting is handled by veritree and it may take 30–60 days from the energy usage reporting to appear in your account. Trees earned are not capped on a monthly or annual basis. 

Multiplier Structure

Multipliers stack in the following order:

  1. Dual Utility Bonus: 2x multiplier if both electric and natural gas accounts are enrolled into the Green Tree Energy Plan
  2. Sustainability Pledge Bonus: 1.5x multiplier if the customer has signed the Green Tree sustainability pledge and remains opted in with a valid email or mobile number
  3. Loyalty Bonus:
    1. 2x multiplier at 12 months
    1. 3x multiplier at 24 months
    1. 4x multiplier at 36 months, and so on

Loyalty is calculated based on continuous enrollment in a qualifying plan. All multipliers apply to tree counts for qualifying usage within the billing cycle.

Reporting & Communication

Tree counts are calculated monthly, in alignment with the billing cycle. A summary of earned trees is sent via email each month and is available in your Green Tree Portal. Customers must maintain a valid email address and remain subscribed to marketing communications in order to receive information on their pledge-related multipliers. Tree incentives are still awarded regardless of email notification status.

Other Terms

Indra Energy reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Green Tree Energy Plan at any time without notice. The Green Tree Energy Plan has no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.
