Indra Energy’s Green Tree plans are residential electricity and natural gas plans that let you accumulate tree plantings to be donated to reforestation projects.

Customers enrolled in our Green Tree plans earn 1 tree for every 100 kilowatt hours (kWH) or 10 thermal units (therms) used each month (don’t worry, we round up). Those trees will be “deposited” into your account so that you can track your earnings this month and over the lifetime of your plan.

No, we take care of that for you. Actually, tree plantings are handled through our partnership with veritree, a leading provider of nature-based solutions. Through their connected network across the globe, veritree identifies areas for focus, facilitates the plantings, and monitors and tracks their progress. Every project is certified end-to-end, giving you peace of mind of a direct connection between you and the tree plantings you’ve earned.

All of our residential plans are 100% renewable.* Our electricity plans are backed by renewable energy credits, certified from zero-emission energy sources. For our natural gas customers, we directly purchase carbon offsets to match customer energy use. If you were asking if they could be renewed annually, then yes! In fact, we offer an annual anniversary multiplier bonus for the trees you earn every month.

No, switching energy suppliers does not interrupt your services at all. In fact, you will get the same bill from your utility company. The only difference is that Indra Energy will be listed as your supplier, and you will be getting 100% Renewable Energy.*

You can do that at any time – we aren’t locking you into a long-term contract. Even though your rates are locked in, that means you are guaranteed to pay that rate through the term of the plan. If you need to cancel before that term ends, just give us a call and we’ll switch you back. With some plans, an early termination fee may apply.
